On July 16, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Hidenori Harada gave a lecture on the value-based approach to water and sanitation at the Integrated Water Resources Management Centre, University of Zambia.
Establishment of water and sanitation efforts is not easy, and one of the factors is the indirectness of health improvement effects. In this presentation, as an approach to overcome this problem, he introduced a toilet that separates urine and feces, which focuses on the value of human waste as a fertilizer, and an application that visualizes fecal contamination to call local youth's attention to WASH.
