Employees must wash hands prior to rinsing the rice.
Set Up
Hang the rice strainer over a colander or stock pot for support.
Rinse in Cold Water
Place rice in strainer, no more than 8 cups at a time. Use cold running water to begin rinsing the rice.
Agitate/Stir
Using a washed, ungloved, hand begin agitating the rice to rinse off the starch.
Run It Clear
Continue to rinse the rice until the water coming out of the bottom of the strainer is clear, not cloudy.
Ready to Cook
Once the rice has been rinsed of starch, it is ready to be placed into a rice insert for cooking.
Rinse & Repeat
Repeat the process until the desired amount of rinsed rice is reached.
