I love.....
learning.....reading.....skiing.....hiking.....biking.....travelling.....drinking coffee.....and of course hanging out with my husband and son!
I grew up on a farm in Iowa and played volleyball while attending Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.
I graduated with a degree in Social Work and worked in the family services field for 4 years.
I moved to Colorado and began to pursue a career in education and received my Masters in Education from the University of Phoenix.
I am looking forward to another year in the Orange class at Lake School!
Why do I teach?
After college I was working as a social worker in Omaha, Nebraska for a school based program.
My job was to help children with their behavior in school and at home, and also connect families to community resources.
I was required to observe students in the classroom, but was paying more attention to the teachers thinking.....WOW, I want to do that!
I wanted to have more of a day to day impact on children, and really make a difference!! My path to teaching was born...........and here I am!
What do I believe?
I believe all students are capable of learning.
I believe all students learn at their own rate and speed.
I believe all students should get outside and learn.
I believe all students have strengths.
