Magnificent McNarys Update

Our class Halloween celebration will be on Tuesday, October 31. Students are able to wear costumes the entire day! We will have a class party at 2pm, and an all school parade at 2:45pm. You are welcome to come join in the celebrations! A HUGE thanks to Heather Malcom, Maren Eberly, and Shannon Weaver for helping organize the celebration!!!!
READING: Students have learned the sound for t and d! They are also able to hear and say words that begin with m, a, t, and d. We continue to work on skills such as first sound, identifying letters, and saying the sounds in words.
WRITING: In writing students worked on writing t and d! You can help your students by making sure when they write their name they are using a capital first letter and lowercase letters for the rest.
MATH: Students worked recognizing numbers in 10 frames and they built a number rack! Ask them how many beads the put on their number rack! We also recited 5 Little Pumpkins in preparation for the Pumpkin Hunt!
SOCIAL STUDIES/SCIENCE: Students continued to listen to stories and identify the setting, character, problem, and solution. They heard “The Jumping Mouse”, “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”, and “Tug-of-War”. Ask your student what was their favorite story!
MUSIC AND MOVEMENT: We learned and practiced calming strategies when having strong feelings, how the brain processes stress, and the different parts of the brain. This week we also started our throwing and catching unit - which included tossing & catching to self using hands and also catching with a scoop.
SOCIAL EMOTIONAL: Students worked on being assertive this week and asking 3 friends for help before they ask an adult to help them solve a problem.

Nuestra celebración de Halloween de la clase será el martes 31 de octubre. ¡Los estudiantes pueden usar disfraces durante todo el día! Tendremos una fiesta de clase a las 2pm y un desfile de disfraces a las 2:45 p.m. ¡Le invitamos a unirse a las celebraciones! ¡UN GRAN agradecimiento a Heather Malcom, Maren Eberly y Shannon Weaver por ayudar a organizar la celebración!
LECTURA: ¡Los estudiantes han aprendido el sonido para t y d! También pueden escuchar y decir palabras que comienzan con m, a, t y d. Continuamos trabajando en habilidades como el primer sonido, identificando letras y diciendo los sonidos en palabras.
ESCRITURA: ¡en escritura los estudiantes trabajaron en escribir t y d! Puede ayudar a sus alumnos asegurándose de que cuando escriben su nombre están usando una primera letra mayúscula y letras minúsculas para el resto.
MATEMÁTICAS: ¡Los estudiantes trabajaron reconociendo números en 10 cuadros y construyeron un estante numérico! ¡Pregúnteles cuántas cuentas pone en su estante de números! ¡También recitamos 5 Calabacitas en preparación para la Caza de Calabazas!
ESTUDIOS SOCIALES / CIENCIAS: Los estudiantes continuaron escuchando cuentos e identificando el entorno, el personaje, el problema y la solución. Escucharon "El Ratoncito Brincador", "Ricitos de oro y los tres osos", y "Tug-of-War". Pregúntale a tu estudiante cuál fue su cuento favorito.
MÚSICA Y MOVIMIENTO: Aprendimos y practicamos estrategias calmantes cuando tenemos sentimientos fuertes, cómo el cerebro procesa el estrés y las diferentes partes del cerebro. Esta semana también comenzamos nuestra unidad de lanzamiento y captura, que incluía lanzar y atrapar a uno mismo usando las manos y también atrapar con una bola.
EMOCIONAL SOCIAL: Los estudiantes trabajaron en ser asertivos esta semana y pidieron ayuda a 3 amigos antes de pedirle a un adulto que los ayudara a resolver un problema.
