I hope you all enjoy a very thankful week with your children! I am thankful for all the support you parents have given me! Also so thankful that I get to see your children grow academically and laugh, love, and learn with them daily! Safe travels to those going to spend time with family or friends! Mr. McNary and I are off to see his sister, brother-in-law, and mother in the Seattle area! See you all on Monday the 28th! Then believe it or not it is time to start some December planning!

READING: Students have learned the sound for h, s, and f this week! We also reviewed all previously learned letters! Ask your child to teach you how to play eraser man, the new version of hangman! At home have your child tell you the sounds for letters in the alphabet! In listening students have started learning about plants. Have your student tell you the plant parts and the life cycle of a plant! We tried a celery and food color experiment in the class to see how plants absorb water, but in true experimental form it didn’t work as well as expected!

WRITING: In writing students worked on writing all letters they have learned the sound for in reading. They also continue to practice their names and handwriting. This week students wrote about their favorite animal, it was fun seeing their inventive spelling and helping them write the sounds they hear in words. Help to remind them names start with a capital, and have lowercase for the rest of the letters.

MATH: Students have been busy counting and writing numbers to 10 and beyond! They worked on the correct formation for 6, 7, 8, and 9! We also worked on counting to 100 by 1’s and 10’s! See how high your student can count!

SOCIAL SKILLS: In our social skills lesson this week students talked about showing interest when someone is talking. They learned to look the person in the eye, listen, and ask a question. It was fun to see them practicing what not to do and what to do while listening to someone.

Espero que todos disfruten de una semana muy agradecida con sus hijos! ¡Estoy agradecida por todo el apoyo que me han dado los padres! ¡También estoy tan agradecida de poder ver a sus hijos crecer académicamente y reír, amar y aprender con ellos todos los días! Viajes seguros a aquellos que van a pasar tiempo con la familia o amigos! ¡El Sr. McNary y yo vamos a ver a su hermana, cuñado y madre en el área de Seattle! ¡Los vemos a todos el lunes 28! Entonces créanlo o no, es hora de comenzar una planificación de diciembre!

LECTURA: ¡Los estudiantes han aprendido el sonido para h, s, y f esta semana! También revisamos todas las letras aprendidas anteriormente! Pídale a su hijo que le enseñe a jugar al hombre borrador, la nueva versión del verdugo! ¡En casa, haga que su hijo le diga los sonidos de las letras del alfabeto! En la escucha los estudiantes han comenzado a aprender acerca de las plantas. ¡Pida a su estudiante que le diga las partes de la planta y el ciclo de vida de una planta! Probamos un experimento de apio y color de alimentos en la clase para ver cómo las plantas absorben agua, pero en verdadera forma experimental no funcionó tan bien como se esperaba.

ESCRITURA: En la escritura los estudiantes trabajaron en la escritura de todas las letras para cuales han aprendido el sonido en la lectura. También continúan practicando sus nombres y caligrafía. Esta semana los estudiantes escribieron sobre su animal favorito, fue divertido ver su ortografía inventiva y ayudarles a escribir los sonidos que escuchan con palabras. Ayuda a recordarles que los nombres empiezan con mayúsculas, y que tienen letras minúsculas para el resto de las letras.

MATEMÁTICAS: ¡Los estudiantes han estado ocupados contando y escribiendo números hasta 10 y más! ¡Trabajaron en la formación correcta para 6, 7, 8 y 9! También trabajamos en contar a 100 por 1 y 10! ¡Vea cuánto puede contar su estudiante!

HABILIDADES SOCIALES: En nuestra lección de habilidades sociales esta semana los estudiantes discutieron acerca de como mostrar interés cuando alguien está hablando. Aprendieron a mirar a la persona a los ojos, a escuchar y hacer una pregunta. Fue divertido verlos practicando qué no hacer y qué hacer mientras escuchaban a alguien.
