What a fun week celebrating reading! A HUGE thank you to all our “Celebrity” readers who came in to read to our class! We enjoyed having you!!! One more week until spring break, how has the school year gone so fast? I look forward to all the children getting healthy and recharged over the break!
READING: Students continue blending words and reading decodable and non-decodable stories! They started a new decodable book about a kid named Seth. They learned the sound spellings for/q/ and /ng/. Thanks for reading at home with your students and sending back their book bags!
WRITING: Students continued “How To” writing. This week they worked with a partner to get feedback and add more to their writing. At home have students help you write lists, make cards, and write about their day.
MATHEMATICS: Student learned several new games this week: Shapes and Spinners Graphing, Pattern Block Designs, Spin and Count Shapes, and Hungry Caterpillars. At home have them keep counting by 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s.
SOCIAL STUDIES/SCIENCE: On hold due to Read Across America week, check back next week!
MUSIC AND MOVEMENT: In music and movement we began learning how to jump over a self-turned rope. The goal is to jump over the turned rope 3 times in a row.

Una semana más hasta las vacaciones de primavera, ¿cómo ha ido tan rápido el año escolar? ¡Espero que todos los niños se vuelvan saludables y se recarguen durante el recreo!
LECTURA: ¡Los estudiantes continúan mezclando palabras y leyendo historias decodificables y no decodificables! Comenzaron un nuevo libro decodificable sobre un niño llamado Seth. Aprendieron la ortografía de sonido para / q / y / ng /. ¡Gracias por leer en casa con sus estudiantes y devolver sus mochilas!
ESCRITURA: Los estudiantes continuaron escribiendo "Cómo". Esta semana trabajaron con un compañero para obtener comentarios y agregar más a sus escritos. En casa, haga que los alumnos lo ayuden a escribir listas, hacer tarjetas y escribir sobre su día.
MATEMÁTICAS: Los estudiantes aprendieron varios juegos nuevos esta semana: Gráficos de formas y giros, Diseños de bloques de patrones, Formas de giro y cuenta y Orugas hambrientas. En casa, pídales que sigan contando por 1, 5 y 10.
ESTUDIOS SOCIALES / CIENCIA: En espera debido a la semana de Lectura a través de América, ¡vuelva la próxima semana!
MÚSICA Y MOVIMIENTO: en música y movimiento empezamos a aprender a saltar sobre una cuerda que se dio vuelta. ¡El objetivo es saltar sobre la cuerda girada 3 veces seguidas!
