Bushwhacked students engage in a varied curriculum as part of this subject, with a major focus on:
Character Strengths
Collaboration
Decision Making
Human-Nature Relationships
Students will also have opportunities to learn and develop a range of outdoor skills through practical experiences. Across the year, students will complete three overnight outdoor education programs. The details of these programs are confirmed on a year-to-year basis.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a non-compulsory program which has an enrolment fee of $190.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an optional program that is offered to Bushwhacked students. It is a globally recognised youth development program that provides young people opportunities to develop essential life skills. To achieve the Award, students must learn a skill, improve their physical well-being, volunteer in their community, and experience a team adventure in an outdoor environment.
Bushwhacked supports students with the completion of their Award, but please keep in mind that students must complete the Award outside of school time. The Adventurous Journey is an exception to this.
Please refer to the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award website for additional information about this program: www.dukeofed.com.au.
