English Language covers a range of topics related to Language - its use, history, and future. The subject affords students the opportunity to explore and analysis various uses of language across broad periods of time. In English Language time is spent systematically breaking down language samples (spoken and written) to explore in depth the use of English as a meaning-making system. A further avenue of exploration within English Language centres on the impact of English as a Language around the world - as well as the impact(s) of other languages on the beautiful creation that is English. The subject also explores the power that Language has to help shape, explore, and express individual identities.
