This pathway offers a ‘hands-on’ study option for students in Years 11 and 12. The VCE Vocational Major gives students practical work-related experience, as well as literacy and numeracy skills while offering the opportunity to build the personal skills required in work and in life.
The Vocational Major study can lead to higher education such as TAFE and/or university.
Students may choose this pathway in Year 11 and 12 because
they prefer an applied learning approach to teaching and assessment.
they would benefit from the flexibility to combine VET and Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) or a School Based Apprenticeship ( SBAT) in their senior school program
they do not require a direct pathway to university via an ATAR
