The subject Business Management is designed to equip students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to oversee and coordinate the activities of an organisation or business. It covers a wide range of topics including leadership, strategic planning, marketing, finance, human resources, operations management, and more.
In Business Management, you will develop knowledge and skills to help you participate in the business community as informed consumers/citizens.
Unit 1 investigates Planning a Business by investigating the business idea and exploring the factors affecting businesses and how they operate.
Unit 2 studies Establishing a Business looking at the legal and financial requirements they must follow, effective marketing and public relations and the best way to meet the needs of a business in terms of staffing.
Unit 3 covers Managing a Business in terms of looking at different types of businesses, their objectives, their stakeholders, managing their staff and operations efficiently & effectively.
Unit 4 investigates Transforming a Business - looking at reviewing key performance indicators to determine current performance and how to best make plans for the future by investigating strategies to manage change to improve business performance and the importance of leadership during this process.
