VCE Vocational Major English is a subject where students develop and practise their communication skills, to be able to effectively convey their ideas and advocate for their rights in the workforce and wider community. We focus on building reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, using a variety of texts that are tailored to students' interests and vocations.
Students are encouraged to discuss and debate their views with each other, and to work collaboratively to solve problems.
Writing for various purposes using different text forms
Identifying writing purpose, audience, language features of a range of texts
Investigating a range of current social and vocational issues and the ways they are communicated about and promoted
Applying the conventions of spelling, punctuation and grammar and draft and refine work
Plumber, electrician, carpenter, hospitality worker, beautician, hairdresser, fitness instructor, personal trainer, nurse, aged care worker, gardener, web designer and other apprenticeships and traineeships.
