Curriculum updates in preparation for the 2026 school year are currently underway and will be complete by Monday July 28 2025
The Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) is an inclusive Year 11 and 12 standards-based certificate.
The program provides an enriched curriculum and excellent support for students to develop the skills, capabilities and qualities for success in personal and civic life.
The VPC is designed to
engage students through applied learning
provide flexibility to meet an individual’s learning needs
While the VPC is not a Senior Secondary qualification, it can be a pathway in to VCE studies.
Students at Brunswick Secondary College will have the opportunity to be flexible with their enrolment in VPC, and may be able to access a pathway to the VCE Vocational Major if deemed suitable.
The VPC aims to:
equip students with the skills, knowledge, values and capabilities to be active and informed citizens, lifelong learners and confident and creative individuals
empower students to make informed decisions about the next stages of their lives through authentic workplace experiences
provide students with the best opportunity to achieve their personal goals and aspirations in a rapidly changing world
The minimum requirement to achieve the VPC is satisfactory completion of 12 units, which must include:
at least 2 units of VPC Literacy (or units from the VCE English group, including VCE VM Literacy)
at least 2 units of VPC Numeracy (or units from the VCE Mathematics group, including VCE VM Numeracy)
at least 2 VPC Personal Development Skills units (PDS)
