The Year 9 Mathematics course builds on students’ existing number skills and lays the foundation for working mathematically across a range of dimensions.

Students are provided with the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge of mathematical concepts and applications that are purposeful in society.

Students are encouraged to work collaboratively and with digital technology to solve problems. They are also encouraged to document their thinking using mathematical language and conventions to establish and develop literacy and fluency in mathematical language.
