Geography is the study of the Earth and how it is affected by humans. It equips students to examine natural and human phenomena, how and why they change, their interconnections and the patterns they form across the Earth’s surface. In doing so, students develop a better understanding of their own place and its spaces and those in other parts of the world. In VCE Geography students investigate hazards and disasters, tourism, changing the land and human population.
Investigating the complexity and diversity of the environments and places on Earth and how human cultures have interacted and changed these places.
Undertaking fieldwork and produce fieldwork reports using primary and secondary data.
Analysing the world around us using maps, graphs, data and case studies.
Using geospatial and digital technologies to learn about the Earth and future challenges we face like climate change.
