Curriculum updates in preparation for the 2026 school year are currently underway and will be complete by Monday July 28 2025
In Year 10 students have increased flexibility and responsibility in their learning. They begin to consider pathways both within and beyond the school and have the opportunity to pursue subjects of interest to them, through our comprehensive elective program.
Year 10 students complete core subjects in the Learning Areas of English, Home Group, Learning Support, Mathematics, Humanities and Science.
Students may also apply to complete a VCE Units 1&2 subject as part of the VCE Early Start Program.
Students choose 2 Elective Subjects to study per semester to complement their core subject studies.
Elective Subjects enable students to specialise in areas in which they have a particular interest or talent. This flexibility promotes deeper engagement and supports higher achievement.
At the same time the Elective Subjects provide excellent background to areas covered in VCE studies and VCE Vocational Major.
Please note that students opting to study a VCE Early Start subject, VET course or Language elective in Year 10 do this in the elective block.
This means an Elective Subject each semester is taken up by the Early Start / VET / Language subject and students will only choose 1 other Year 10 Elective Subject per semester.
