2024 Season Wrapped

On Saturday, November 2nd the Islanders Boys & Girls Teams made their first combined appearance at the State Meet in program history.  

Miles was only 2 seconds off of his season PR and Nate M was within 11 seconds of his.  It was a dense field of competitors on a challenging course and overall the team had some great races. 

We had a ton of supporters out there and lots excited to see our teams make an appearance.  Another big milestone for our program as our future continues to be bright! 

TO-DO LIST: 

1. Turn in your uniform to the Athletic Office in a bag with your name on it (so I can keep track of who has turned there uniform in).  Your student account will be charged at the end of the calendar year if your uniform is NOT turned in. 

2. Complete your End of Season Survey:

•  Parent/Guardian End of Season Survey

• Athlete End of Season Survey

3. Pick-up any awards/pins from the Athletic Office you didn't get at the End of Season Banquet

Upcoming Winter Off-Season Training:

Strength Training with Potenza in the Weight Room

• OPEN Sessions every Tuesday from 3:30-5:00pm 

• Boys Sessions on Wednesdays from 3:30-5 or 6pm (check our Team Calendar to confirm)

• Girls Sessions on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 or 5pm (check our Team Calendar to confirm)

To Note: You can go to the weight room anytime during the timeframes listed and will likely lift for around 45 minutes (aka the sessions do NOT last the entire timeframe, rather they indicate when Potenza Staff will be staffing the weight room). I'd recommend trying to lift 1-2 times per week in the off season. 

STARTING AFTER THANKSGIVING - Winter Run Club

Optional Off-Season Opportunities: 

• Nordic Skiing or another Winter Sport

• USATF Indoor Track Meets Starting December 15th ($25 to compete, open to everyone)

• Loppet 365 Training Program with Abdi Bile (abdibile@loppet.org)
