Conflict Searches - Staff Family Member and Other Special Conflicts

Agencies may need to enter the names of people who should come up in conflict searches, but are not parties to any case in the database. For example, a staff's family member who is a landlord; or an attorney being hired who may have conflicts from a previous job. Agencies sometimes refer to these as "institutional conflicts".

There are two common approaches to entering these names:

One is to have the people entered in the Contacts portion of the database. Contacts are returned in generic and conflicts searches.

Some agencies create a dummy case or cases and add these names. The names can be added as family/household/non-adverse parties, or as adverse parties. However entered, they will come up in searches.
