Matter Rejection and Referral Reporting Code

Rejected Matter Fields

When a Matter is "rejected" (Matter Rejection Screen), there are two important fields that are tracked:

Rejection Reason: indicates why a Matter was Rejected (e.g., Outside of Priorities).

Matter Referral Reporting Code: is the code used to indicate what was done with the Matter after it was rejected (e.g. Referred to Private Bar).

The Matter Referral Reporting Code and the Applicant's Legal Problem Code are often used in reporting Matters, so they are usually required fields.

Note: Site administrators can configure LegalServer to not display the Matter Referral Reporting Code, so you may not see it.

Also note that you cannot reject Other Matters like projects or education presentations.
