SDG 1 aims to end poverty in all its forms everywhere. Salim's family lives in extreme financial hardship, with limited access to basic necessities, including electricity. Their reliance on an oil lamp for light shows how poverty restricts even their ability to create a safe learning environment. By supporting families like Salim’s with financial aid and resources, we can alleviate some of these economic pressures and help them move toward a more stable future. Addressing their poverty also reduces the risk of similar accidents that arise from unsafe, inadequate conditions.
SDG 4 promotes inclusive and equitable quality education for all. Salim’s dedication to his studies, despite limited resources, reflects the importance of access to education. His family’s inability to afford even a safe study environment highlights the barriers to education faced by many underprivileged children. By helping Salim access scholarships, school supplies, and safe lighting, we can ensure he continues his education safely. This support empowers him and children in similar situations, giving them the skills to break the cycle of poverty in the future.
SDG 10 aims to reduce inequality within and among countries. Economic disparities prevent Salim and his family from accessing the same opportunities and safety nets that others take for granted. By supporting his family through donations, scholarships, and government aid, we help bridge this gap. This intervention isn’t just charity—it’s a step toward leveling the playing field so that children like Salim, regardless of their economic background, can pursue their dreams and reach their potential.
