1. Time Management 

Planning and designing the lesson required careful structuring to ensure students could engage with the story meaningfully. I spent significant time selecting the best pre-reading activity, designing engaging discussions for each page, and integrating technology into the lesson through the "Future Talks: A Chat with AI" activity. The allocated time was mostly sufficient, but I realized that managing the discussion segments efficiently was crucial to ensure every part of the lesson was covered within the timeframe.  

 2. Teaching Satisfaction  

I was satisfied with my micro-teaching session, as students actively participated in analyzing the story and connecting it to real-world issues. The painting activity at the beginning successfully captured their attention and helped them visualize the contrast between an abandoned house and a futuristic city. The page-by-page reading and discussion method encouraged deeper understanding, allowing students to reflect on each section before moving forward. The AI conversation activity was particularly engaging, as it allowed students to interact with technology while critically thinking about the future. The final future-imagining task helped students personalize their learning by reflecting on how technology might shape their own lives.  

 3. Areas for Improvement  

If given another opportunity, I would refine the discussion structure to ensure each group has enough time to process and analyze their assigned pages. Some students needed extra guidance in understanding symbolism and themes, so providing a visual summary or graphic organizer might enhance comprehension. Additionally, during the AI conversation activity, I noticed that some students struggled to phrase their questions effectively. A brief demo on how to interact with AI assistants could make this activity even more effective.  

 4. Strengths and Weaknesses

- Strengths: 

  - The painting activity was a great way to activate prior knowledge and introduce the themes of the story.  

  - The page-by-page discussion kept students engaged and helped them process the story in manageable sections.  

  - The AI conversation activity made learning interactive and encouraged critical thinking about the future.  

  - The final future-imagining task gave students a *personal connection to the themes of the story.  

- Weaknesses: 

  - Some students needed more structured guidance in analyzing symbolism and themes.  

  - The AI conversation activity required clearer instructions on phrasing questions to get meaningful responses.  

  - Time management during the discussion segments could be improved to allow more in-depth analysis.

5. Peer Feedback

My peers appreciated the engaging and interactive nature of the lesson, especially the AI conversation activity. They found that the pre-lesson painting activity was a creative way to introduce the story’s themes. Some suggested that I provide more scaffolding for students struggling with deeper analysis and consider using short video clips to reinforce key ideas about technology and the future.  

6. Overall Reflection

This lesson was a valuable experience in teaching literature through discussion, technology, and creative thinking. The integration of AI conversations and futuristic thinking made the lesson relevant and engaging for students. Moving forward, I will refine my approach by ensuring students have the necessary analytical tools to interpret literary themes and improving time management during discussions.  

This session has strengthened my confidence in using multimodal teaching strategies and integrating technology into literature lessons. It has also reinforced the importance of making literary themes relevant to students’ lives and future-thinking.
