What
This week's lesson was aimed at going through the unit outline and understanding what is required for all three projects and learning journal submissions. Despite not being in the country I made sure to be online through zoom and follow up on the content learned and keep up to date through the use of the resources available on Moodle.
So What
During this week's lesson, the main objective was to go through the requirements for Project One and the respective outcomes that had to be met. Based on the content reviewed, I was able to fully comprehend what an NFT and cryptocurrency are, as well as how this trend relates to Project 1. I initiated by joining the Zoom lesson and understanding which different group members I would have the possibility to work with. In the beginning, I found identifying a past disturber a challenge, however, through the use of background research and further investigation as a group, I was able to understand and carry on further research. Overall, I feel that this session was a great learning experience as it allowed me to deepen my knowledge and skillsets of project 1 and what would be expected from CIM151.
Now What
My next steps before next week will be to further analyze project 1 and have a look at sample projects to get an understanding of what content is expected to be developed and included. This will also provide me with the opportunity to have a look at sampler submissions to get an idea of how our group project should be presented.
Transferable Skills
In regards to this week's transferable skills learned, the ones which were best applied were critical thinking and discovery. The reason why I feel this way is because we were required to critically think and collaborate on researching past disturbers within the music industry for project 1. The practice of these transferrable skills will help with the development of project 1 and the completion of the research task. These skills are a set of skills that are also reflected in other of my unit and in the real-life context within studio and live sound scenarios.
