This unit introduces you to some of the production skills required in the modern day recording industry. You will develop your understanding of musical arrangement and concepts as it applies to the roll of a producer. You will also develop your critical listening, recognition and analysis skills by referencing a broad range of program material.
Throughout this unit, you will undertake three projects:
Music Production (due week 6)
Sound-alike (due week 12)
Portfolio Development (due week 12)
Each week involves 6 hours of classes, plus 12 hours of personal study outside of class (18 hours per week). Your Learning Journal should evidence the 18 hours per week study.
