This project of laying out and forming the genealogy tree allowed me to learn more about myself, who inspires me and why they inspire me. Allow me to also learn about different artists and research their musical development. Personally think that the project itself went well adverts I was able to not only expand my knowledge learn the reasoning behind my chosen influencers within the music world.
I think that what I could improve for next time is asking Kevin for feedback before submission dates are not only in the last minutes, this will not only help me guide my work but also focus my project on the respective outcomes and aims to be achieved. Only my next steps ahead or to receive feedback from Kevin I understand where I might lack knowledge or information with regards to my influences and the people who influenced my chosen artists. This project brings me many benefits to my career as an audio engineer as it allows me to understand a bit more about the background of artists that I might eventually mix for.
This project also allowed me to learn about the connections between different genres of music and how different music elements link together to form an artist. Also really interesting learning about how arses express themselves through music by using different genres of music but also different elements of music that fit each one of them individually.
When reflecting on the transferable skills learnt within this project there are many that I have achieved due to the complexity of research and understand of which this project requires for students to achieve the high distinction which I aspire to receive. But for transferable skills which I feel that I have gained and learned throughout the process of this milestone was time management, the ability to research and the flexibility to adapt information, critical thinking and problem-solving, positive attitude.
In terms of time management, I think that I have learnt how to manage my time and spread out my workload in a more consistent manner, this allows me to be able to plan, produce and present my first milestone of project one within the given time frame and with a since quality.
Next in terms of the ability to research and the flexibility to adapt information, I feel this was a hard transferable skill to learn as I struggle at times to research information and explain my findings and understanding. To overcome this challenge I was able to look at different sources of information such as documentaries, YouTube videos, websites, images and books to then come up with final reliable sources of information.
The third transferable skill which I think this project has supported me with developing his critical thinking and problem-solving. Critical thinking was a great deal within this project as it was necessary to find relative information that was suitable for the project and the artists that I was researching. Times I had to critically think and evaluate not only how liable to sources were but also how I would be able to justify my findings, my thoughts and my opinions within my final project submission.
Lastly into transferable skills, I'd like to talk about the positive attitude which comes under interpersonal skills. A positive attitude was something that had to be consistent throughout the whole project due to the complexity of the research and the lack of sources at times. I sometimes found it difficult to keep going in certain stages however maintaining a positive attitude I was able to research deeper and rephrase questions which help me guide my project.
