Final Project Reflection

Project 2 allowed me as an audio student to further research the artists within the music field who influenced my chosen artists in the genealogy tree. Throughout this project, I was tasked to carry out in-depth research about my chosen artist. The artist I chose is Martin Garrix as he is someone who has had tremendous success but I did not know much about.
I found this project really interesting and extremely informative. It's quite easy to research Martin and find different evidence which supported my findings. It was great to learn about how broad Martins life is, the challenges he has faced during his career and how he overcame them, and lastly the way he has evolved as an artist over the last 10 years.
Upon presenting to my peers and lecturer there was no specific feedback provided as my presentation seemed to have met all the set criteria. However, upon asking for specific feedback from Kevin he informed me that for the future it would be advisable to look at adding in-text citations throughout my project. As a result of his feedback, I decided to action it straight away. hHow I did this was by labelling all my images and videos throughout my presentation. This process allowed me to acknowledge and correctly reference all the media used within my presentation.
In future projects what I think I can do differently is to complete the project a few days in advance to obtain constructive feedback from Kevin before the final submission. I also personally think I could improve on how my media is presented throughout my project by embedding more interactive features within my website to attract the reader.
When reflecting on the transferable skills learnt within this project there are quite a few that have stood out due to the level of complex research that had to be carried out. Two examples of transferable skills that I feel that I have been able to demonstrate within my project were time management, critical thinking and cognitive outsourcing.
Reflecting on time management I believe that I have been successfully able to plan research and present information gathered within a timely frame manner without requiring Kevin's support. In terms of critical thinking and cognitive outsourcing, I think I demonstrated these skills while carrying out the research on Martin Garrix. Both these transferable skills require me to collect and process information and then write down my findings. I feel I was able to do this successfully to achieve a high distinction grade within my project.
In conclusion, the last transferable skill I would like to mention is "Positive Attitude." A positive attitude was required throughout the project due to the complexity of research and limited information sources available. At times I struggled to keep going due to a lack of information and facts available, however, maintaining a positive attitude enabled me to research deeper and create questions that helped guide my project.
