What
This week's lesson was used to present our project 1 group presentations. Before my lesson scheduled time, I met with my group members through Zoom to ensure that we as a group were all up to speed with the content that each member would be presenting and how we would be illustrating our thoughts and ideas to ensure we secured the highest grade. In further addition, my role as an individual during this week's lesson was to ensure that I was able to successfully meet all the learning outcomes of project one and the specification requirements in order to receive an exceeding specification grade. In order to ensure that this was possible, I had to confirm that all the correct information was on the PowerPoint and also correctly cited.
So What
Our group presentation went really well, and I strongly believe it was a great learning experience and that there are points on which we could reflect on and improve for future submissions. For our group presentation, the feedback provided by our lecture was that we should have ensured that the references were placed in chronological order on the last slide of our presentation. It was also a great learning experience and an opportunity to see other groups present, as it provided me with an opportunity to reflect on what went well and what could be done better next time. Based on this week's lecture, in future presentations, what I could do better is to have a deeper understanding of my presentation topic to enable me to have more consistency and fluency when presenting.
Now What
My next steps will be to reflect on the whole project development and presentation skills learnt on the project tab and submit my completed project reflection through Mood by the end of the week. As an HD student, I will also be sure to arrange a feedback session with my tutor to have a better understanding of what the next two projects of this trimester are about and what he thinks I need to improve before my next submission.
Transferable Skills
In terms of this week's transferable skills, I personally feel that the best-reflected skill was the ability to learn from criticism and collaboration skills. The way in which the ability to learn from criticism can be reinforced is through action and improvement of my presentation skills based on the feedback provided by my teacher and peers. In regards to the collaboration skills, I feel I was able to demonstrate this skill best through the in-class presentation process and the experience I gained.
