What
This week's lesson was aimed at going through the submission of milestone 1 and the ways in which we could improve leading up to the final submission of project 1. During this session, I was already physically in Dubai, and upon speaking to Oussam through Zoom, I was approved to submit Week 1 to 3 learning journals and a milestone by Tuesday this week. Furthermore, we also had the opportunity to review each other's milestone submissions and understand the reason why there was a plagirisam marked in certain submissions. This provided us as students with a clearer point of view and an understanding of how to correctly referance and site our findings.
So What
At the beginning of this session, I found it quite difficult to understand what was going on due to having missed the first two weeks. However, by asking regular questions and communicating with my peers and lector, I was able to experience a smooth start. I am excited about continuing work on Project One because it will allow me to expand my knowledge and findings in the industry. Overall, I feel that this session was a great learning experience as it allowed me to deepen my knowledge of Project 1 and what would be expected to be submitted in the next few weeks.
Now What
My next steps before next week will be to complete the first section of project 1 and to ensure that I take a look at what my group has done so far to understand where we are at so far. This will also give me a better understanding of where we are in terms of the overall submission for Project 1.
Transferable Skills
In regards to this week's transferable skills learned, the ones that were best applied were communication and group skills. The reason why I feel this way is that I was required to communicate with each other within our set groups to develop and, hence, submit the first project prior to the submission date. Communication skills are a type of skill set that is widely used across the music industry and in a real-life context. Furthermore, I would also like to reflect on my time management skills, as I have been able to successfully catch up with all my missed work and create an action plan of what needs to be completed by when. The practice of these newly discovered transferrable skills will help with the development of project 1 and the completion of the research task.
