Weekly Reflection (What, So What, Now What, Peer to Peer Feedback & Transafarable Skills)?
During this week, there was no scheduled lecture. This week was used to reflect on the Project 2 submission and on how Project 3 could be improved in comparison to Project 2. I am personally confident that I have been able to achieve my desired high distinction grade. However, I took this week to read about Emotional Intelligence and how emotions can be expressed through the use of media. What I was trying to figure out this week was how I would apply what I had learned over the previous six weeks to Project 3.I also asked my other classmates for feedback on my current project assignments and how they felt I could further improve my submissions.
Their response was that I should aim to shorten my description and try to state the point in a clearer way. In order to be able to successfully achieve this, I had a face-to-face conversation with Kevin to understand further the way in which I could shorten my written reflections in such a way that I could still mention all the content learnt. Kevin advised me to only reflect on content that was new to me and explain the way in which it could help me in the future and be applied in real-life scenarios.
From what I have reflected on this week, I can understand that for future learning journals and reflective practices, I need to try and articulate exactly what new content I have learnt and the way in which I can apply it to future projects. Evalutaing the feedback provided, I am aware that I am currently reaching the secification and learning outcome of all projects and reflective practices. However, consistancy throughout is required.
In order to successfully improve my reflective practices, I have created a short-end template version of my learning journals that I can use as a guide on a weekly basis. This shortened template consists of the following points:
Weekly Reflection Practive (What, So What, Now What & Peer to Peer Feedback)
Two transfarable skills learnt and how they can be applied in future projects.
Lastly, I was also made aware by my lecturer, Kevin, that he was unable to see all the learning journals reflected on my website. In order to resolve this issue, I am going to be following up with him every second week to ensure that all content is reflected on his end. I will also attempt to open up my learning journals on an incognito tab to ensure they can be viewed. This is an issue that I have also referred to the IT department and to Google in order to be investigated.
In terms of the transferable skills learnt and reflected upon this week, I personally feel that I have been able to demonstrate great communication skills and reflective practice. The reason for this choice was that this week I have been able to receive feedback from my lecturers and peers in order to improve and write more consistent and reflective learning journal entries. My aim for next week's transferable skills is to develop and work on time management and problem solving.
