Elmore James
Elmore James (1918-1963) -was the undisputed king of the amplified slide guitar. Unlike other electric slide players, James played his slide on an Kay Archtop acoustic guitar fitted with a Darmond pickup. Playing mostly in Open D tuning, James created a unique and powerful sound that is one of the most recognizable in blues history.
