Willie Brown (s)

Willie Brown (1900-1952) - was a contemporary of Son House and Robert Johnson who recorded only a few songs for Paramount Records in 1930.

M&O Blues is played in standard tuning while his epic Future Bluesis played in Open G. Very little is known about this Willie Brown - who is often confused for another blues singer/guitarists of the same name who was recorded by John Lomax in 1942.

This second Willie Brown recorded two classics - "Mississippi Blues" and "Ragged and Dirty." The later Willie Brown sings and plays nothing like the Willie Brown who may have been friends with Johnson and House.
