Junior Watson

Junior Watson - is a West Coast jump and blues guitar player who I first heard playing with a group called The Mighty Flyers - led by harp player/singer Rod Piazza. My older brother recorded live performances by this band when he lived in Southern California in the early 1980s. I have included two examples of these recordings below!

In my humble opinion, Watson is the greatest, ever! He plays so many different chords and licks in a style that is completely his own. He mixes in Jazz ideas with old R&B, electric blues, and more. Check out the videos on this page to see what I am talking about! I hope to see him perform live at least once before I die.
