Matthew 26:31-35
Jesus Predicts Peter's Denial
31Then Jesus told them, "This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written:
" 'I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.' 32But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."
33Peter replied, "Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will."
34"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times."
35But Peter declared, "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you." And all the other disciples said the same.
One of Jesus' Own Disciples denied Jesus at the time He needed Peter the most...
In everyone of the four gospels, the authors write about Peter's denial...Jesus predicts that Peter will deny Him, not only once but, three times...Jesus also tells His disciples that they will scatter when He is arrested...He also tells them that He will rise and be in Galilee after His death...So somehow He will die in Jerusalem and wind up being in Galilee after His death...All of this would be very difficult to understand and be confusing to the normal man...
Do you think man has stronger faith than this, or can you believe that this happened?...
Peter and the disciples tell Jesus that they will die with Him and never disown Him...It does seem like our faith is stronger on some days, than others...The Spirit is willing but our flesh is weak...
