Matthew 9:9-13
Jesus Came for Sinners
9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Matthew 22:36-40
The Greatest Commandment
36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
God sent to us a Savior, because we sin...And His Son saves us from our sins...Jesus, I think, would rather nobody sin, but as He walked the earth He forgave sinners and He tells us He came for us sinners...So He knows we are going to sin...And that is why we need Him and why we are in need of a Savior...
And Jesus goes farther in talking of sin and teaches of love...I think that much of the four gospels and the New Testament are about LOVE...Jesus might tell us that the ultimate act of loving God and loving neighbor is what brings harmony in life...When He tells us that to love God and love neighbor, He has forever linked God and neighbor...So I must believe there will be a time, when everyone can love each other, with God's help, His LOVE, His Forgiveness, and His Grace...Maybe that time is when we are all in heaven together...
