Hebrews 13:8
Jesus is the Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Mark 12:18-27
Jesus Says God, is Our God of the Living
18 Then the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question.19 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother. 20 Now there were seven brothers. The first one married and died without leaving any children. 21 The second one married the widow, but he also died, leaving no child. It was the same with the third. 22 In fact, none of the seven left any children. Last of all, the woman died too. 23 At the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?”
24 Jesus replied, “Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? 25 When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 26 Now about the dead rising—have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? 27 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!”
Matthew 24:36-51
Jesus Talks About His Second Coming
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
John 12:23-26
The Importance of Seeds
23 Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. 25 Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
27 “Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify your name!”
Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.” 29 The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him.
30 Jesus said, “This voice was for your benefit, not mine. 31 Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. 32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” 33 He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die.
34 The crowd spoke up, “We have heard from the Law that the Messiah will remain forever, so how can you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this ‘Son of Man’?”
35 Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. 36 Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them.
Matthew 24:35
Jesus' Words Will Never Pass Away
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Our lives play out each day and in the future, with so much having been determined by our past...But we can only live and be here in the present moment, in the here and now...But in our thoughts we can live in the past, present, and future...These thoughts of our past, and future make us who we are today...Our past thoughts may play an important role or more crucial role on who we are...Our lives are much determined by our past and our past experiences, because we haven't reached or met our future and future thoughts as of today...But we cannot completely discount the future or the present moments for that matter, in what has shaped us and made us who we are...
Two thousand years ago and in our past, Jesus lived and dwelt among us...He ministered for approximately three years...Then He died on the cross...And He was resurrected by God on the third day...Because Jesus was resurrected by His Father, He lives...And Jesus tells us that the God of Abraham, is not the God of the dead, but the God of the Living...So when thinking about Jesus, the future and forever cannot be separated from yesterday or the past...Today or each current moment cannot be separated from the future or eternity...This is because Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow -and forever into eternity...And Jesus tells us He will return in the future...He will have a Second Coming, a Second Advent...So we must we ready for Him...
Jesus said before His death, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified...Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed...But if it dies, it produces many seeds...Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life...Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I AM, My servant also will be...My Father will honor the one who serves Me."...Then the crowd spoke up and said, “We have heard from the Law that the Messiah will remain forever, so how can you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’?...Who is this ‘Son of Man?”...
The crowd was right saying the Messiah will live forever...And believing this starts with a seed...The kernel of wheat must fall to the ground and die...Otherwise it only can remain this single seed...No grass, no plant, no tree can ever be here in the future without a seed from the past...And the beautiful of grasses and flowers were once seeds of the past...And the largest of the mightiest trees were once only a single seed...Jesus revealed to us things about the future...The future of these most beautiful and loveliest of flowers, grasses, and trees today, were in the past only a single seed...The Messiah was once only one in number when He started His ministry...Then He became Twelve plus One...And now His numbers are large, and His word remains today and has never passed away...His Word will be here in the future and remain with all generations...
