Matthew 22:34-40
The Greatest Commandment
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Reading the Bible is not about trying to understand all about science or to learn all about the history of the world...The Bible does contain some science and some history, but it is about God and His Son and how They will one day fix the world...And as I read the Bible, it seems it is about the Two Commandments that Jesus talks about...Jesus forever ties God and neighbor together with the Greatest Commandment...We are to love God and to love neighbor...To mend and fix this world, it will take LOVE...We need to love God and our neighbors...
And when all of us learn this the world will be mended...God and love can mend the world one day...And it will be done in the Second Advent, when Jesus returns...
