Matthew 22:34-40
The Greatest Commandments are all about Love
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Jesus in His Greatest Commandment teaches us that believing and having faith in God is not limited to just our faith and loving the One True God...Jesus teaches us in this Commandment that we are also to love our neighbors as well...
So it must be that fellowship is of the utmost importance in life...Because believing that we should love, help, and protect our neighbors is part of this Commandment...Jesus does not say that we are to put ourselves above others, or to put ourselves first -but goes even further in His Sermon on the Mount to teach us to love our enemies...So we are to live among others and by living by others that we might help them...
For whoever is generous to his poor neighbor and helps his neighbor lends to the LORD, and He will repay him for his deed...In all things let it be shown by you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the LORD Jesus, how He Himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."...Be kind to one another and every neighbor, tender-heartedly, forgiving each other, just as God in His Son also has forgiven you...So let us be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you...Therefore, let us and our Father help us encourage one another and build one another up, just as He does in His Word...
Scripture shows us that we are the perfect source of inspiration for others and reminds us how important it is to be kind to to our neighbors...
