John 1:1-14
Jesus is the Word and the Word is God
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 14:6-7
Jesus is Truth
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
John 17:6-19
God's Word is Truth
6 “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.
13 “I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
Psalm 33:4
God's Word is Truth
4 For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
Psalm 119:89
God's Word is Eternal
89 Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus is the Same, Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
John 17:1-5
God Granted Jesus Authority over All People
1 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
“Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4 I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.
Matthew 7:24-29
Following the Word of Jesus
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
Matthew 24:35
Jesus Words Will Never Pass Away
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
John 16:12-15
The Holy Spirit Guides Us to Truth
12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”
There is so much we learn about Truth from Jesus...He stood up and said He is the Truth, the Life, and the Way...We know that He is full of both grace and Truth...
When Jesus was praying for His Disciples the night before His arrest, He asks God to sanctify His Disciples...And in this prayer about His Disciples being sanctified, He asks God to separate them from others...He ask His Father to declare the Disciples Holy...And in this prayer of sanctification, Jesus is asking the Disciples to be given authority and to be blessed...He also tells us that some things about Truth in this prayer...He tells us that God's Word is Truth...And His Word and the Word of God would be forever spread by His sending out into the world His Disciples...And the Words of Jesus, this gospel, that they would spread, would never pass away...
Truth also has this authority, completely surrounding it...When we follow the Words of Jesus, we follow this authority and are guided by an authority that is larger than ourselves, larger than our knowledge and larger than our wisdom...Larger than life itself...Jesus' Truth has this Spiritual sense around it, as it guides us toward Him...
Jesus is the only Man, I have ever heard about or read about and that said He is Truth, the Truth...In the beginning Jesus was and is the Word...And the Word is with God, and the Word was with God -before He came to earth...And the Word was God...And we know that God's Word is Truth...He was with God from the very beginning...And Truth never changes or ages...Once the Truth, it is always the Truth...Truth is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow...Truth is ageless, and Truth always stands the test of time...Truth and God's Word, therefore are eternal...And also on that night before His arrest He prayed for Himself...He prayed that God had given Him authority over all people, that He might be the One to give us eternal life...And He explains to us what eternal life is...Jesus says, "Now this is eternal life: that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent."...So knowing God and knowing His Son is eternal life...
God's Word and Truth and the Authority of Truth and eternal life are all related...God's Word is Truth...Jesus is the Truth...Jesus was given authority by God over all people...And when we know God and His Son, we have eternal life...Jesus says He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life...Jesus shows us the Truth and the Way to Eternal Life...
