Matthew 24:30-35
Jesus Will Return One Day
30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus is the Same Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Time takes it toll on many things...I would say that time takes its toll on all things and degrades all things...Over time things age and we age...Machines wear down and out, and man wears down and becomes more fragile...Over many years we cannot fight against or destroy time, and time takes some things out of us...It appears that over a very long time span that time wears most things, if not all things wear out...
And over time history is made...Time gives us history and historical accounts...And the most memorable and articulating history of men, women, and events are written down in history books...The things are written down in these history books are taught in schools and remembered by the many students who learn world history...And for some reason if a book is labeled History Book, one tends to believe that it is history and been properly researched and proven...And many, if not most, read these History Books and believe what is written in them...
Now years ago, Jesus told us that heaven will pass away, and eventually earth would pass away...But unlike the History Books, many debate the historic accounts of Jesus of Nazareth...So most History Books and Historical Books omit His Name, and what He did in His time...So many books about Jesus are not noted to be historical books or accounts of Him by some readers...And there are many, many books written about Jesus...They tend to label these books religious or theistic books...Yet, in the Bible His Words are the greatest words ever spoken...We also know one thing, and that is that time will not take away these words...His words will never pass away...While earth and heaven will leave and go way and pass someday, His words, and the things that He taught and teaches us will never pass away...He taught us these things two thousand years ago...And as He did say, His words are still around and being written about this very day...
Time, this thing which wears on everything, ages us and weakens our bodies and sometimes our minds down -is powerless to Him and His words...His teachings will never die...Time, this thing that is so gradual and wearing on all things, can neither exhaust or kill Him or what He said, when He was on earth...He proves defiant of time itself, and vows to return to us in His Second Coming...This is what is remarkable about Him...His words do still live...And His living spoken words makes me believe that His teachings are never going to die...When I think of His marching right through time unbending and uncompromising, His words are still relentless against time, even after two thousand years, it helps me believe He is the Son of God...It helps me see His Divinity...Jesus is over time...Jesus is beyond time...Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow...
