Emily Dickinson
Poema LX
Trasegué un sorbo de vida.
Os diré lo que pagué
por beberlo: una existencia
─lo que es justo que se dé.
Átomo a átomo pesaron
mi carne, incluso mi piel.
Y me dieron
un solo dracma de cielo,
que es lo que vale mi ser.
I took one Draught of Life—
I’ll tell you what I paid—
Precisely an existence—
The market price, they said.
They weighed me, Dust by Dust—
They balanced Film with Film,
Then handed me my Being’s worth—
A single Dram of Heaven!
