Noah, who was originally obedient to God’s word and a diligent worker, became drunk one day and took off all of his clothes. His second son, Ham, did not take care of his father when he saw his father’s naked and drunken state. Instead, he went to tell his brothers Shem and Japheth. Japheth and Shem were understanding and put clothing over their father. When Noah woke up and knew that Ham did not help his father, and instead spread the news to other people, he cursed Ham and his son Canaan to become the lowest of slaves. But he blessed Japheth’s and Shem’s families to grow in power and success

The Bible tells us not to be drunk because drunkenness will make people do things they are embarrassed about when they wake up and bring bad consequences. When someone does an embarrassing thing, especially your family member, you should protect and help them. Children who are obedient and protect their parents like Shem and Japheth will be blessed.

Dear Heavenly Father, help me to commit to avoid getting drunk. I want to be a person who love and protect my family, obey my parents and gaining in favor with my parents and God! In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen!
