If you were a lost little sheep waiting for someone to take care of you, who would you want to be your shepherd? Would you be willing to follow a butcher? Someone who has no experience in taking care of sheep? How about a shepherd who has experience and a loving and protective heart?

The Good Shepherd

Psalms 23:1~6

Psalm 23:1
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

Cute little sheep are very fragile and weak animals. When they encounter ferocious beasts, they don’t have the ability to protect themselves. Sheep need shepherds to guide them and find grass fields and streams for feeding and growth. David describes himself as a sheep in this psalm. God is his good shepherd, providing everything he needs and bringing him to a safe and comfortable place. Although he would meet dangerous and scary things along the way, God is the good shepherd and keeps him company and helps him to find victory against his enemies. David trusted God and received his blessings. He committed to praising God the rest of his life.

Do you feel like a little sheep needing a good shepherd to protect, comfort, and guide you to a safe path? Are you willing to be like David and follow God, the good shepherd?

  1. In want

  2. Table / feast

  3. Overflows

David praised God his whole life, and God helped him to be a warrior, he conquered the giant who attacked him, and eventually became the King of Israel. Although you are young now, as long as you are willing to be God’s sheep, He will protect and guide you all of your life, so that you are blessed and glorify God.

Dear Heavenly Father, You are my good shepherd. Please lead me to follow a path of righteousness. I believe you will always be with me and help me in both peaceful and difficult times. I will also learn from David, following and praising you to the end. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen!
