There’s a saying “Consequences come when you don’t listen to an elder’s advice”.
Sometimes the advice from your family can be hard to hear, but it’s from a place of love and protection!
Instead, you need to be careful of the sweet words from outsiders, because it may result in terrible consequences!

Beware of temptation!

Proverbs 5:1~14

Proverbs 5:7
Now then, my sons, listen to me; do not turn aside from what I say.

Wisdom continuously tells you to be careful, especially of the sweet words from people who are trying to convince you of temptation! Following those sweet words will result in suffering, so definitely do not join in and do evil things! It will result in loss and hurt, and you will regret not listening to the words of wisdom!

Which of these people do you need to be careful of? They want to take you to dangerous place and do dangerous thing!

  • Beautiful strangers giving you presents of toys and candy and want you to go with them

  • Classmates telling you to smoke and take drugs

  • Someone who takes you to an intense party

  • Someone who tells you not to tell your parents about what you plan to do

  1. Have you ever regretted doing the wrong thing? What kind of wisdom did you learn?

  2. Has anyone ever told you not to tell your parents something? If you knew your parents and God loved you the most in this world, shouldn’t you tell them? Ask them to help you decide what is right and wrong to avoid doing something you’ll regret?

  1. Unfaithful Woman (someone who is not loyal)

  2. Wormwood (a bitter and poisonous herb)

Everyone likes to hear things that make them happy, but you need to have the wisdom to know if the words are coming from good or bad people! When you can’t tell, you need to talk to your parents or a teacher at church. They will provide you with real help. Although wise advice is not always easy to hear, it is meant to protect you. If you are smart, you will listen and avoid future regret!

Dear Heavenly Father, Please protect my eyes, ears, and body to avoid temptation from evil people and avoid being tricked to do bad things. Please give me the wisdom to know right from wrong and a humble heart to accept advice and teaching. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen!
