Waiting is a very hard thing to do!

Noah’s family and the animals in the ark were sailing through the wind and rain for a long time!

Did God forget about them?

How much longer?

Genesis 8:1~12

Genesis 8:1

But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.

Noah’s whole family sailed in the wind and waves of the flood for many months and the food they had saved was depleting. How much longer would they have to wait? Did God forget about them? No! God always has a plan full of knowledge and love. The Bible says God remembered Noah and his family, as well as all the animals on the ark, so when the time came for his plan to take place, the rain stopped, the waters receded, and the ark stopped on a mountain. Noah was smart and he released a raven and a dove from the ark. He waited until the dove came back with an olive leaf, then he knew the earth was dry and new trees were growing!

Take a guess! How did Noah feel during all of his waiting?

□ Angry and impatient because God shut them in for so long!

□ Sad that so many people were drowned!

□ Thankful that God saved his whole family and many animals.

□ Happy that God destroyed all of the people on earth.

□ Lovingly taking care of all of the animals in the ark.

□ Patiently waiting for God to let everyone out of the ark.

1.Do you remember how many days it rained for after Noah entered the ark? How many days did it flood for?

2.In your life, what type of things do you have to wait for? How do you feel and behave when you have to wait?

3.What kind of new understanding of God do you have based on today’s Bible reading? What kind of God is He?

1.Remembered

2.Waters receded

When we feel impatient and do not want to wait anymore, our loving Father has not forgotten us. He is actually proceeding with his plan. We just have to be patient and continue being obedient by praying to God, because he is a trustworthy God.

Dear Heavenly Father, please remember me and listen to my prayers. When I am impatient, please help me learn from Noah and have patience so that I can see your wonderful plans! In Jesus’s name, Amen!
