When we hear our parents say
“I love you! I like you!”
how happy we are at that moment!
Unexpectedly,
our Heavenly Father also likes to say so!

The Son who pleases God!

Matthew 3:13~17

Matthew 3:15
Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.

Baptism is instituted for sinners to repent and be cleansed from their sins. Jesus is the son of God and He never sins, so he does not have to repent or get baptized. However, he was baptized because he was not a proud or condescending person. Instead, he lived a humble life as the people of the world lived. He was willing to do good deeds as much as the world should do. Because of this, those that are poor, rich, sick, and healthy are willing to draw near to him and accept him. When Jesus was baptized, Heavenly Father said, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased!" Not only was Heavenly Father pleased with Jesus, He also introduced Him to the world that Jesus is the Son of God! Like Heavenly Father, Jesus is also God. He came to the world in the form of a man to save us from sin.

What would a child favored by God do?

□ 1.Be proud □ 2.Be humble □ 3.Get baptized
□ 4.Refuse to be baptized
□ 5.Stubbornly refuse to listen to guidance
□ 6.Obey the Bible and parents
□ 7.Lie □ 8.Be honest

Do you think you are a child that your parents are pleased with? A child God is pleased with? Why?

  1. Beloved Son

  2. Pleased

Jesus came to earth and did everything that was right and good. He did not look for an excuse or a way out to avoid doing what was right. We need to get rid of any thought of trying to do things the easy way. We should learn from Jesus and put all our effort into what we do, building habits of avoiding sin so that we can receive God's favor.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for sending Jesus to the world. I am willing to imitate him, follow the Bible's teachings, and do things accordingly. I pray that you will favor me like you favored Jesus. In Jesus'Name I pray, Amen!
