Having no umbrella on a rainy day and getting drenched is a terrible feeling! However, when the rain does not stop coming down and you can’t find a life raft, that is scary!

Nowhere to escape

Genesis 7:17~24

Genesis 7:23

Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; people and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.

The flood lasted for 40 days, rising above the mountains and flooded the earth for 150 days. Humans and animals all died. Only Noah's family and the animals he brought into the ark lived, because they listened to God. The ark continued to float on the water. Is it possible Noah's family and the animals became seasick? Did God overstep his boundaries? This is because:

For the earth is filled with violence because of them. (Genesis 6:13)

Noah's family was rescued, but they still had to work hard in the ark every day!
Let's think about what they had to do:

What do you think the air in the ark smelled like? How did it feel to live inside the ark?

Flooded

When Noah’s family saw the floodwaters outside of the ark, it was very scary. However, when they saw that their family and animals in the ark were safe, their hearts must have felt grateful to God.

Dear Heavenly Father, please examine my heart often. Do not let my heart become hard and remind me to often repent for any wrongdoing so that I receive your favor like Noah did. In Jesus’s name, Amen!
