If you see a sign that says “Beware of snakes” when we go hiking, will you be extra careful?

Would you bring an umbrella or stick along?

The consequence of ignoring warnings

Genesis 7:1~10

Genesis 7:5

And Noah did all that the Lord commanded him.

Noah received God’s warning that there would be 40 days of rain to come, and God would use a flood to wipe away all the wicked humans and together with them, the living creatures as well. Noah believed the warning and started to build an ark on land. This was meant as a cautionary sign to the other people on earth, but no one believed Noah. Instead, they laughed and called him crazy! However, Noah continued to trust in God’s word and ignored the mocking. As a result, he led his family and many animals into the ark while the floodwaters came upon the land!

These signs and warnings were created to protect us. What do each of them want us to be cautious of?

1.If you were Noah, how would you feel when other people made fun of you?

2.Based on today’s Bible reading, do you think God jokes around? Or is his Word trustworthy?

1. Flooding

Sometimes people will make fun of us for reading the Bible, going to church, and tithing to God. Despite that, will you continue? Who will you go to for help when you are being mocked or bullied?

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me the Bible to teach, guide, and protect us. When others make fun of the Bible, please keep my heart and let my faith be steadfast in you, so that it is not affected by their words. Help me to continue doing my daily devotions because I know I can trust your word! In Jesus’s name I pray, Amen!
