What is the one piece of advice from your parents that has made the deepest impression on you?
Did you do as they said?

A wise choice

Proverbs 4:1~13

Proverbs 3:21
My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion.

In a parent’s heart, they love their children the most. They always want to give the most successful and best teaching to their children and help them value wisdom. If a child is willing to accept these words and obey, they will not only improve their lives, but receive protection and honor. We must also be careful to make determination. The world is filled with many people who often say things to benefit themselves or for fun, resulting in hurt and loss.

Which of these people love you, want to protect you, and want to help you improve, grow, and succeed the most?
- Strangers
- Parents
- Neighbors
- Ronald McDonald
- God
- Classmates

  1. When your parents teach you, do you feel like sometimes they are nagging or mean? Do you feel like ignoring them? How about if everyone sat down to discuss and decide how to handle it?

  2. Wisdom is precious! What did you learn today about how you can get wisdom? (from listening to your parents)

  1. Dutiful son

  2. Loved child

  3. Crown of glory

  4. Crown of honor

Only the wise receive respect and honor. So where do you find wisdom? Besides the wise teachings in the Bible, the guidance from your parents is also filled with wisdom. A smart and obedient child will learn to patiently listen and obey. Instead, you need to be careful to discern what is right and wrong in what you see on TV or hear from your friends.

Dear Heavenly Father, Please help me to be a humble and wise child. Help me to understand my parents’ good intentions and be obedient to them so that our whole family can enjoy peace and joy. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen!
