John the Baptist was a very special missionary. He told everyone that the kingdom of Heaven was near and advised everyone to repent. He also reprimanded the egotistical and fake Pharisees and Sadducees . He used water to baptize many people and foretold that there would be someone much greater who would use the Holy Spirit and fire to baptize, and that is Jesus Christ.

The clothing and food John the Baptist had was all very natural. He did not follow the latest fashion or focus on eating fancy meals because his heart was focused on God's mission for him to baptize the people on earth and help them find salvation from sin. He focused on Heaven and life over the fun and comforts of earth. I should also learn from John and read the Bible and pray often, as well as tell everyone about God’s love and the salvation of Jesus.
