What we have here is a beautiful berry-licious experience that is mild and fragrant. This is just the beverage you need for the hot summer afternoons! Served either hot or iced, this tea is amazing refreshment chock-full with antioxidants and vitamin C. A perfect combination to get you going in the morning!
Yields: 2 Servings
Ingredients:
2 tbsp mate tea
2 tbsp hawthorn berries
2 stalks lemon grass
4 rose hips
1 tsp strawberry leaves
Molasses to taste
2 cups water
Methods of Preparation:
1. Boil the water in a pan.
2. After the water has boiled, add the berries, lemongrass, rose hips and strawberry leaves.
3. Let it steep for 15 minutes.
4. Add mate tea.
5. Steep for another 10 minutes.
6. Strain the tea, preserving the rose hips and hawthorn berries.
7. Pour the tea in cups and sweeten with molasses.
8. Spread the berries and rose hips evenly.
9. Serve hot.
10. Don’t forget to eat your berries and rose hips after you have drunk the tea. Don’t let all that amazing vitamin C go to waste!
