Spring time is on its way! It is slowly showing its face as flowers start to bloom after their long winter’s nap. Little shoots in my garden are poking their way through the soil ready to become delicious vegetables this summer. I love the cool gentle breeze that tickles the grass around my bare feet, makes my skirt twirl around my leg and plays with my hair.
Yes, spring is almost here, my friends.
Morning greets me with a chill in the air that quickly fades away into the warm late morning. There is nothing like a comforting cup of tea to start the day. I like to sit back and watch as God’s paintbrush adds strokes of color to the dawn sky, in vibrant shades of pink and orange. I wrap my hand around my mug and breath a prayer of thanks for the new day, it’s a gift.
I delight in all kinds of teas and tisanes (herbal “tea” blends). This tisane is often found in my cup in the early mornings or late evenings. Not only are you nourishing your soul with this cup of delight but your body as well.
You can make as much or as little as would like. 1 part can be as little as a teaspoon or as big as a mixing bowl. I normally use 1/4 cup = 1 part when making my blends.
3 parts lemon grass
1 part lemon balm
1 part lemon peel
1 part chamomile
1/8 part cut stevia leaf
1. Add all the herbs to a glass jar and shake until they are completely mixed.
2. Use one teaspoon of tisane for a single serving (about 8 oz). Add your desired amount to a tea strainer or teapot.
3.Cover with boiling water a let steep for at least 5 minutes or up to 10.
4. Sweeten with raw honey if desired.
