Sometimes the simplest things in life are the best, like this tea for example. It has two ingredients, black tea and rose petals. The robust flavor of the black tea mingles with the delicate flavors of the rose petals creating a simple, yet delightful blend of flavors. This tea is our go to for tea parties in my house. Rosy Black Tea is perfect on it’s own but even better when a little raw milk and raw honey are drizzled in.
This recipe calls for two parts rose petals to one part black tea. You can make it in any amount you want. When I am making this tea I generally use 1/4 cup as my measurement. Since the star of the tea is the rose petals, not the black tea I don’t have qualms serving this tea to my girls in the morning or early afternoon.
Rosy Black Tea
2 parts rose petals
1 part black tea
Place the rose petals and black tea in a glass jar. Shake until thoroughly mixed. For one serving place one teaspoon of tea in a strainer. Put the strainer in your favorite mug. Pour eight ounces of boiling water over the tea. Let steep for no more than 5 minutes. Remove the tea and enjoy.
For a tea party you might want to consider serving the tea with some nourishing treats such as Chocolate Cupcakes (soaked), Chocolate Cherry Coconut Flour Muffins or Cinnamon Rolls (soaked).
